Founded in 2016, the ride to remember raises awareness of dementia and fundraising to help find a cure. Over $1.7m has been raised to date with all fundraising going to research.
The Bondi2Byron Ride to Remember, a 7 day cycle over 1,000kms to help raise awareness of dementia. All funds raised will go to fund vital research projects to help find a cure for dementia.

My Story
I have an opportunity in 2025 due to my long service leave from 10 years at Louder to commit to undertaking some bigger charity initiatives, and accordingly am undertaking a 1000km ride for Dementia (this) and another 1000km ride later in the year.
1000KM in 7 days for someone like me, with the aerodynamics of a brick, and the uphill gravitational affliction of 100 of same, do not put me as a natural cyclist, but I have endurance, and bloody mindedness - for the right causes.
Dementia will impact OR affect someone we know directly, whether we act or not. It is now the second most prevalent killer of Australians. I am hoping that my efforts and fundraising will contribute something to assist to fund further research projects to understand how these foul conditions can be treated, or prevented in the future. I have seen it impact people close to me over the last 25 years, and I do not wish for others to experience the condition or the consequences.
